CHENNAI:The Hindu Munnani on Thursday distanced itself from the bomb attack on Tamil news channel Puthiya Thalaimurai and advised the cadre not to indulge in such activities at a time when several activists of the outfit are in prison for their earlier protests.
Hindu Munnani leader Rama Gopalan, who issued a statement on March 8, warning that the news channel should take responsibility for the consequences if it continued to indulge in ‘anti-social’ activities, softened his stand and expressed regret for the incident.
Those who resorted to such acts did not have any links with the Sangh Parivar, he added. Describing the attack as uncivilised, Rama Gopalan demanded a complete enquiry into the background of the attack on the channel office and those who instigated and abetted it.
