Dear Friends,

Subject: Muslims Being Disempowered—True Or False?

Before we examine the question, let us recall that the MIM (All India Majlis-Ittehad Muslimeen) has secured a political foothold for the first time in the recently concluded State elections in Maharashtra. Perhaps, that has made Asaduddin Owaisi, Hyderabad-based President of the MIM and a Lok Sabha MP, accuse that ‘secular’ parties were to blame for this state of affairs (reference the edit page conversation of his with Amin Ali in “The Times Of India” of November 3, 2014.)

Well, before that, it will be worth enquiring from him: can he deny the following?:

No Stoppage To Minority Appeasement Policy Of the UPA Govt—Why?

This is the most sore point against the present government. In their pronounced vote-bank politics, the UPA had not only created a Ministry of Minority Affairs, in spite of there being a constitutional body, namely, the Minority Commission, just to create the unconstitutional body of Sachar Commission. While the illegality of the Sachar Committee has been challenged by the Delhi-based Think Tank, namely, the Patriots’ Forum and the concerned PIL is now in the Supreme Court for listing, the UPA government, under the cover of implementing the recommendations of that challenged unconstitutional Sachar Committee report, made a dash for granting various kinds of privileges to the minority (read Muslim) community and granting lakhs of scholarships to the children of the minorities, all the while denying the same to the children of the Hindus in much poorer condition, especially in the villages, creating extremely anomalous and socially divisive conditions all over the country.

In order to bring this highly anomalous situation to the notice of the people, two senior police officers, namely, Shri R K Ohri and Shri J P Sharma, quickly undertook a deep research and finally brought out a phenomenal book, titled, “The Majority Report”. It vividly brings out ,with true case studies, how the UPA government virtually made Hindus in the country a secondary group of citizens. Of course, this distressing situation was initially created by the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh making that absurd and most unconstitutional statement ever made by any Prime Minister any where in the world that the minorities had the first right to national resources of the country. It was, incidentally, also a clear violation of the first part of the oath of office by the Prime Minister, who had taken the oath not to discriminate against any one on the basis caste, creed or religion.

The unbounded flow of money that came out of the public exchequer, both in the Centre and in the States, to meet the demands of different schemes for the Muslims came from the public exchequer. People who tried to unearth the total money so spent by the Centre and State governments on the minority schemes believe that it would prove to be the largest scam ever. Incidentally, it may also be a matter of formal enquiry whether all the money spent by the Ministry of Minority Affairs was within the sanctioned budget of the Ministry or had come from other dubious sources or even unauthorisedly diverted from other ministries.

The continuation of all these clearly “unconstitutional” expenditure, even under the popular national government in the Centre, is a major point of grievance on the part of the majority community and calls for early remedial measures. This is specially so when the Prime Minister has made a public statement that the government will treat all citizens as equal.

Well, Mr. Owasi, how do you then say that Muslims in India are being disempowered? Of course, one could expect only such misleading statements from leaders like you. It is on record that you had said before the parliamentary elections earlier this year that the Muslims could annihilate the Hindus if the police forces were withdrawn for a while. You are also on record: Hindus shouldn’t make the mistake of considering Indian-Muslims any different from the Pakistan-Muslims.

If India may dare to attack Pakistan, then 25 crore Indian Muslims will join Pakistan Forces and fight against India.

Asaduddin Ovaisi, Loksabha Sansad,MIM, Hyderabad.

So, Mr. Owasi, now you know how far away you are from the truth.

· So we suggest to honourable men like you to look outside in India as well. People, having realised the danger Islam is posing by virtue of their fast demographic growth, are gathering in protest. They must also remember the post-independence born Muslim youth (excepting those taught in Madrassas) and the first-time voters among them, are keen on making their careers & have different ideas. Religion, as many amongst them, have started believing is a matter of personnel faith only. They will not, therefore, be keen to go along with their threats to the Hindus for submission.

· We also appeal to you and through you to other leaders of your ilk: please do not indulge in such inflammatory speeches. If you yourselves cannot get assimilated, please allow the youngsters live & grow in Bharatvarsh, get themselves truly assimilated culturally also. And, then let us all live in peace & amity or co-exist peacefully.

· A final appeal. Please also do not try to test the extent or level of the catholicity of Hinduism. If stretched beyond the limit, even the strongest string breaks. Let us all live in harmony, keeping religion a matter of personal faith aside. The Prime-Minister has already said he believed in treating all Indians in equal terms. Let us help him make this happen. We want and we preach peace, peace & peace. Can we all not make this a reality?
