May Maa Durga bless all on MAHA SAPTAMI.
For your reference, here is a map that displays the exact locations of places in West Bengal mentioned in this current email-newsletter (below):
Yesterday on Maha Sashti day, I visited another village Nakurait under Bhangar PS in South 24 Parganas district. This Bhangar-1 Block has an overwhelmingly Muslim majority. So, for several decades, the local Hindus were even afraid to celebrate Durga Puja in that village, until Hindu Samhati stepped in. After we gave the Hindu villagers there a booster-dose confidence, support and protection, the villagers felt emboldened. As a result, Durga Puja was boldly held in this village for the first time, only during last year (2013) . I was invited to inaugurate last year’s celebration. This year (2014), we distributed about 100+ new clothes in this village. Some photos below.
P.S: Today, police cautioned our Hindu Samhati workers there that Muslims complained regarding slogans shouted by the Hindu youths during our program.
Today, on Maha Shashti, along with Sri Asitava Bhowmik, I visited 3 villages under Bhangar PS (South 24 Parganas district) and under Minakha PS (North 24 Parganas district) to bolster Hindu resilience in border areas. Two “Vastra Vitaran” program organised by our local Hindu Samhati units to bolster for the ongoing Durga Puja season. In Minakha, I visited Putkhali village for the first time. I am impressed with this Tribal village. There is a ‘Girls Football Team’ comprised of 26 girl players. We distributed about 70 clothes here. The tribal girls presented ‘Santhali dance’ and ‘Vande Mataram dance’ in the program. The last two pictures are with the dance team and football team.
Hindu Samhati’s Siliguri branch started its journey in the period of Maha Shashti during sacred Navaratra.
Report from Siliguri (in North Bengal. It is barely 30 km from the India-Bangladesh border and located on the foothills of the Himalayas):
Today, we, Hindu Samhati Siliguri unit, set off on our journey with the spirit of selfless service that our Sanatana Dharma teaches us. Today we have successfully distributed 160 new clothes amongst the poor Vanavasi Tribal people at Joypur Tea Estate in Jalpaiguri. Unlike Christian missionaries, we have distributed without any kind of religious discrimination. We also talked with local Munda tribal people who, despite their severe poverty, are still staunch followers of Sanatana Dharma. We have promised them (along with other Nepali, Rajbanshi and Bengali Hindus) that we will provide them with winter clothes and free medical assistance. In his speech, our respected teacher Prashanta Paul today mentioned the local problems related to the local poor Hindus. Our second speaker Bhaskar Dey raised serious issues like religious conversions by missionaries and preservation of their indigenous culture. We received very good response from all the Vanvasi people.
Friends, today, I went to Subalpur village in Labhpur area of Birbhum district – which is over 180 km distance from Kolkata. This Labhpur is the place where the so-called crime of Gang Rape (Labhpur Gang Rape Case) of a tribal girl happened on 20 January this year. Perhaps you came to know that 13 Hindu Santhal tribal men, mostly young boys, have been convicted and awarded 20 years rigorous imprisonment by sessions court.
First, a quick recap. From day one, I was confident that this is a false concocted story not only to defame the Santhal tribals, but also to break the spine of this courageous community who are trying hard to preserve their culture and protect the honor of their women from the lust of Muslim miscreants in a very wide region of West Bengal and Jharkhand. The so-called victim girl has written in her complaint (on basis of which the case has been registered and 13 persons arrested) that she was to marry Khaleq Sheikh of Chouhatta village, and Khaleq Sheikh came to her house for discussing the marriage. This Muslim man Khaleq Sheikh is already married and has 2 children. His wife Hasina Bibi had confirmed that their 15 year old daughter’s marriage preparation was going on, at that time.
This Khaleq Sheikh, villagers complained, has illicit relations with this village’s so-called victim girl of Santhal community. Khaleq gives her a lot of money. Hence this is a type of prostitution, villagers alleged, due to which this village’s environment was being badly vitiated. Hence, the community elders and women repeatedly told her to leave the village. But the 20 year old girl refused to obey them. Therefore, the village women were watchful and determined to catch them red handed and end the matter by compelling that girl to leave the village. However they had no idea that this would bring so much trouble and so much ignominy to the entire community.
These 13 innocent Hindu Santhal tribal boys and men, including their “Morol” (tribal village headman), have been falsely accused by the media, framed by the police, mocked by the “civil society intelligentsia” and forgotten by their fellow countrymen.
This, according to special sources, is a success of a deep conspiracy to break the morale and self-protection system of poor illiterate tribal society of West Bengal and Jharkhand. Their village is leaderless and defenseless against Islamic expansionist aggression, since their headman and youths has also been framed and thrown in jail for the past 8 months.
However, although the tribal villagers (only 27 families) are almost broken in their spirit, they will appeal in Calcutta High Court. Surely we’ll help them. Today I assured them of our help to fight the legal battles but we need funds to pay for lawyer expenses, fees etc.
Today we (Hindu Samhati) helped the victim families with whatever little financial assistance that we could muster. Please see some photos below.
Although they’re in no mood of Durga Puja celebration, but we will still give them some new clothes to the children. If my friends want to extend a helping hand, they may do so.
Among the families, few families are starving 2-3 days a week because their primary breadwinners are in prison.
In the other families where food/meals are being cooked, many of them cannot eat due to depression.
In this context, I must admit that the so called Tribal organisations and their Tribal leadership miserably failed to show their integrity & sincerity in helping these hapless poor families in their hour of need.
Rather these hapless poor tribals have been exploited by these so-called ‘Tribal Organisations’ and the so called Tribal leaders, and left to fend for themselves.
For framing and convicting these 13 Santhal tribal Hindu boys and men, a special mention must be made of the conspiracy and nefarious roles played by ruling Trinamool Congress MLA Munirul Islam, Kazi Mahammad Hossain (Sub-inspector, Labhpur Police Station) and Public Prosecutors Mohammad Shamsul Zoha and Feroze Pal, in conjunction with the media and “civil society” secularists.
This tribal girl Balika Murmu was raped by Khaleq Sheikh. But his medical test has not been done since January 2014. It was necessary to have done a semen test of Khaleq Sheikh and tally it with semen obtained from Balika’s body and clothes. But it was not done by the investigators and the public prosecutors did not ask for it. So, we have to approach High Court now. Now after 8 months, any medical test is meaningless. But we have to attract attention of the High Court towards the lacuna and biased nature of police investigation. We have to engage a good lawyer.
Here are some photos (below) showing the terrified, bewildered faces of these framed Santhal boys and the shell-shocked, devastated Santhal women of this poor village Subalpur after their families’ breadwinners (sons, brothers, husbands, fathers) were dragged away by the police, tied with ropes and grabbed by their sarongs (lungis) while being herded like animals in public.
