Thrust of the organisation will be welfare of Hindus in the years to come
Mumbai : As the Golden Jubilee year celebrations started with a public meeting here on Sunday, the message was loud and clear, that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) will concentrate on social issue than politics, at least for now.
Firebrand leader Praveen Togadiya said that thrust of the organisation would be on the welfare of Hindus in days to come. “We will spr-ead to all villages and every ward. We will open more hostels for students from the deprived classes and wo-men. We will strive to provide free healthcare to millions of Hindus,” he said.
The occasion was blessed by Pejawar Swami Vishwesh Teerth, Govind Deo Giri, Swami Vishweshwarananda, Sikh religious leader Gurucharan Singh Gill, Baudh saint Bhadant Rahul Bodhi, Jain Muni Padma Sagar along with VHP working president Praveen Togadiya and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat.
Bhagwat emphasised the supremacy of the Indian value system in his address. “The ancient Indian value system is the only thing that can ensure peaceful and sustainable civilisation across the globe,” he said. “Hindus need to identify their innate values and ensure that their conduct are according to the principles. Only a true Hindu like this can ensure a unified, powerful and thriving Hindu society,” he added.
Togadiya, in his inaugural address, took stock of achievements of the organisation in the past 50 years and gave a glimpse of the roadmap ahead. He said that the organisation works from 55,000 centers across the country and is spread to over hundred countries across the world.
Togadiya also described VHP as the lone voice of Hindus across the globe. He described the efforts made by the organisation in protecting human rights of Hindus from strife-ridden countries like Surinam, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and many more. He said VHP would ensure that forceful and deceitful conversions are stopped and said the organisation will also emphasise on re-conversion of converted Hindus, in days to come.
