KOLKATA: Senior Hindu leader Tapan Ghosh led Hindu Samhati paid tribute to the legendary Gopal Mukherjee this Saturday, remembering 16th August, 1946.

A rally of around 10,000 Hindu Samhati workers marched from College Square to Esplanade. Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga, president of Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena, participated in the rally along with Buddhist monk, Karunalankar Bhikshu.

Addressing the large turnout at Esplanade Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga said, “I have come from the land of Bhagat Singh to the land of Netaji. This is the sacred land of Swami Vivekananda, Shyamaprasad Mukherjee and Khudiram Bose. It is a shame that books introduced by the TMC government brands legends like Khudiram Bose as terrorist. I must then call the chief minister of West Bengal as the real terrorist. The TMC goons, who threaten to rape women, are terrorists.”

Bagga also advised Mamata Banerjee to solve the issue immediately. “If the issue is not resolved soon, this will become a national issue”, Bagga added.

Shantanu Mukherjee, the grandson of Gopal Mukherjee, thanked Tapan Ghosh, the president of Hindu Samhati, for arranging such an event.

Tapan Ghosh, in his usual aggressive style, attacked the TMC government saying, “They are ruining our society. What happened in 16th August, 1946 might happen again; thanks to the Muslim appeasers. The government tried their level best to stop this event at the last moment. I know, there are police officers recording my statements. The big bosses of Lalbazar will later analyze it and try to frame a communal angle to the entire event”.

“Muslims have sucked the Congress and forced a Partition. They have sucked the Left and forced reservation in government jobs on the basis of religion. They are sucking the TMC government and have already managed to get stipend for Imams. The alarming point is that, they are also beginning to suck the [West Bengal] State BJP”, Ghosh added.

Ghosh slammed the [West Bengal] State BJP saying, “It is a shame that the party of Dr. Shyamaprasad Mukherjee is having a rally today in the memory of a football match. It is a shame that 16th August does not appeal to them in the context of The Great Calcutta Killing. They had to do this, to simply try and disturb our event.”

In the international context, Ghosh stated, “I would like to use this platform to declare that, we are supporting Israel. They have every right to defend themselves.”

In his closing statement, Ghosh reminded his followers, “16th August is not meant for celebration, but for resolution. Resolution to protect the interest of Hindus in West Bengal. If for that, I have to get branded as communal, I will gladly accept it.”
