If Hindus help to look after cows and for their protection, ‘Gou-vansh’ can be saved !
Before Muslims came to India, cows were not slaughtered here. Muslims started making offerings (qurbani) of cows when cow-slaughter was started. After the Britsh came to India, they started making beef for their consumption. As per the law, ‘Gou-rakshaks’ can hold the transporters of cows or butchers till police reach there; but once police come, the case has to be handed over to police. At one place, fat was being mixed with ghee in the wok while cows were being slaughtered. There were 5 elected representatives of Congress at that place; but no action was taken. We had to wait for 48 hours till police took a note of us. Police are so much under pressure of politicians. Indian economy is also dependent on cows; as such protection of cows has become necessary.
