NMC will have to borrow funds for Hindu’s ‘Kumbh-Mela’ expenses if funds are not available

Nasik (Maharashrta) : Nasik Municipal Corporation (NMC) does not have enough funds for preparing for ‘Kumbh-Mela’ celebrated every 12th year. As a result, work related to providing basic amenities during Kumbh-Mela of 2015 is getting delayed. If sufficient funds are not made available, we may have to borrow money for ‘Kumbh-Mela’, stated Nasik’s mayor, Yatin Wagh. (In a country where Hindus are in majority, State and Central Governments not providing enough funds for Hindus’ ‘Kumbh-Mela’ celebrated after 12 years, is an insult of all Saints, Seers and Hindus ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

1. NMC is expecting minimum of Rs. 500 crores from the Central Government for undertaking work relatedto ‘Kumbh-mela’. The summit committee under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister is expected to give Rs.1052 crores to NMC but it has given only Rs.222.17 crores so far. (Congressmen showering money on Haj pilgrimage, hold tights fists for Hindus’ Kumbh-Mela ! Such Congressmen have, therefore, been sent home by Hindus in Parliamentary elections. Now, it is time to show them their right place in State Assembly elections  ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)

2. Commissioner, Eknath Davale of Nasik’s Revenue Department has stated in a letter sent to NMC for funds that the State Government has agreed to make available 33 % of the requirement i.e. Rs. 350 crores and balance amount is to be raised by NMC. NMC has informed the Government of raising Rs.700 crores; out of which Rs. 350 crores are expected from the State Government. NMC has not been able to take decision on how to raise balance Rs. 352.61 crores.

3. Mayor Wagh said, “Organizing Kumbh-Mela is not the responsibility of only NMC. State and Central Governments also need to make provision for the same. The Central Government provides funds for Allahabad (Prayag); similar provision should be made for Nasik.”
