Mumbai : Chief of the Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray said that since Hindutva is the face of India , it was a natural corollary that the Shiv Sena’s face also reflected it.
He was speaking to mediapersons at Shiv Sena Bhavan, Dadar, after the Lok Sabha election results were declared.
He admitted that while the Narendra Modi factor played a key role, his party’s success was also due to the blessings of late Balasaheb Thackeray, faith of the people of the State, hard work put in by the party activists as well as the Mahayuti alliance.
“Today, we are faced with the stupendous task of fulfilling the aspirations of the voters who have elected us. This pales in comparison to the difficulty faced in winning the elections,” Thackeray said and added, “We will make this nation based on the dreams of its people”.
Thackeray also revealed that his advice to his victorious candidates was to “keep their feet on the ground and work for the people who elected them.”
“This victory will be recorded in the annals of history for all time. The government of the country has changed hands and the Congress has tasted an ignominous defeat like in Panipat.
Reacting to the resignation by Narayan Rane, the Sena chief said, “What resignation, the people of the state have sent him home.”
