INDORE: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Prashant Bhushan once again came under attack from a Hindu organisation on Friday when members of the Rashtrawadi Sanstha Devpath stormed his press conference in Indore forcing him to leave.
Prashant Bhushan was in Indore for a roadshow in support of AAP candidate from Indore Anil Trivedi. After completing the roadshow, Bhushan was addressing a press conference when a group of people came inside and started shouting slogans and used objectionable words against the AAP leader.
A person, who was present from the beginning of press conference, went on to remove Prashant Bhushan’s AAP cape and hurled abuses. He was later taken away.
A group of people with black flags and banners then reached the spot and started shouting slogans for Prashant Bhushan to go back. The members of the Hindu organisation were protesting against Bhushan’s statement on Kashmir.
“They are traitors, they have shown Kashmir as part of Pakistan on their official website,” Mukesh Rajawat, who was leading the protest, said.
Shocked with the unexpected turn of events, Bhushan tried to defend himself saying he had not said anything wrong and all this was wrong publicity. “This shows their violent mindset and frustration with the emerging alternate political force in the form of AAP,” Bhushan said before leaving the place. He added that all this was the handiwork of the BJP as they were scared by the growing strength of AAP.
Police personnel present at the spot remained mute spectators and let both the groups exchange words.
