mumbai-india-mapMumbai : Raza Academy and similar Muslim organizations instigated riots on 11th August 2012 in which reporters and policemen were beaten up; besides molestation of lady police staff. Reporters of ‘Deshabhakta Patrakar Sanghatana’ has filed a case in this connection; therefore, the Government has to now start the process of recovering Rs. 2.75 crores by way of reimbursement for the losses caused by Raza Academy. The Court, however, showed the Government that the process of recovery started by the State Government was wrong and asked the Government for more information.

The petition came for hearing before the Bench of Justice Shri. Naresh Patil and Justice Anuja Prabhudesai on 17th April when the Government informed the Court that order has been issued to start the process of recovery from organizers of the program; from Ahmad Sheikh of an organization called ‘Medina Tulam’ and Saeed Nuri of Raza Academy.

The High Court asked for answers to queries raised by them earlier and reprimanded the Government that wrong information should not be presented in Court in a hurry; else District Collector of Mumbai would have to be called in the Court to explain the process. The Court has asked the Government to again furnish the information.

Advocate Sanjeev Punalekar, the National Secretary of Hindu Vidhidnya Parishada pleaded the side of petitioners Shri. Sanket Satope and Uday Joshi.
