Anti congress wave in India, Hindu farmer ends life, says don’t vote for Congress-NCP in suicide note

maharashtra-mapCongress Government’s anti-farmer policies which are forcing them to commit suicide in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region is nothing new. But in a major embarrassment for Congress and NCP ahead of Lok Sabha election, a cotton farmer who committed suicide left a note asking people not to vote for the party in the coming election as they don’t bother for farmers.

Unable to pay debts and with no hope from the Government to ensure better prices for cotton, 45-year-old Gajanand Ghotekar consumed pesticide leaving a suicide note which said,”don’t vote for the Congress and NCP; they don’t care for farmers.”

The farmer said in his suicide note that he had expected the State Government and the Centre to take steps to ensure better prices for cotton.

As many as 325 farmers have committed suicide in Maharashtra since January 2014.

BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had also hit out at Congress Government for ignoring farmers which are forcing them to commit suicide.

Addressing a rally in Akola in Maharashtra on Sunday, Modi said, “Congress Government has banned export of cotton which is resulting into heavy loses for the farmers and they are forced to commit suicide. Congress is promoting meat export but causing a situation in which farmers are being killed.”
