Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that having a prayer-room at the airport would be a “step in the right direction”. A multi-faith prayer-room would help infuse spirituality into the atmosphere of this important airport and would provide a place for reflection and prayer for passengers, employees, visitors, taxi drivers and others using the airport.
Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, urged all major airports across the world to make a provision for sacred space in the shape of multi-faith prayer room. Many airports reportedly already have multi-faith prayer-rooms and Saskatoon should also seriously plan to provide one, Zed added.
How YXE could really follow its own Vision Statement of “To Be Canada’s Most Valued Airport Experience” without a spiritual space on its premises? Rajan Zed asked.
With over 1.38 million passengers annually, YXE is served by seven airlines providing over 40scheduled flights daily to various Canada and USA airports and claims to rank “among the top airports of its size in Canada”. Stephen Maybury is President and CEO of the Saskatoon Airport Authority.
