Toronto Hindu temple armed robbery attempt: photos released

Toronto police are looking for a man and a woman after worshippers at a Hindu Temple in Scarborough were bound up with plastic zip ties in an attempted armed robbery.

Police say at 9 p.m. on Sunday a man and a woman with their faces disguised entered a Hindu temple at Kennedy Road and McNicoll Avenue. Police say the woman pointed a gun at one worshipper and tried to tie him up with plastic zip ties and duct tape while a male suspect tried to gather other victims.

One victim was able to escape and called 911. Both suspects fled without obtaining anything.

Police have released security camera images of the suspects.

The woman is described as white, 25 to 30 years old, five feet two inches tall and 110 pounds. She was wearing a black and beige Yukon-style hat and black clothing.

The male suspect is described as black, 25 to 30 years old, about five feet seven inches tall and 150 pounds. He had facial hair and was wearing an inside-out jacket and  light-colour beige pants.
