2 Hindu Munnani activists arrested for damaging police vehicle in Chennai

CHENNAI: The Chennai city police on Tuesday arrested two Hindu Munnani activists for damaging the windshield of a police vehicle.

A Raj and Gangadharan damaged the windshield of the vehicle after holding a demonstration along with 30 other Hindu Munnani activists at the Ayanavaram junction on December 6. They were demanding the construction of a Ram temple at Ayodhya.

Police arrested the protesters. The duo broke the windshield of the vehicle when they were being taken to the police station.

The arrested Hindu Munnani activists were released on the same day. But the police registered a separate case against Raj and Gangadharan for damaging the vehicle and arrested them from their houses in Thiru Vi Ka Nagar on Tuesday. They were remanded in judicial custody after being produced before a magistrate court in the city.
