Husband, in-laws booked for abetment

NAVI MUMBAI: After 22-year-old Sugandha Bhoir allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her residence on, her brother has accused her in-laws of torturing her for dowry.

The CBD police have registered a case against the woman’s husband, Pramod Bhoir, her mother- and father-in-law and her husband’s paternal aunt. According to senior police inspector S Tore, the complaint was lodged by the woman’s brother, Sachin Kondilkar, states that his sister had been complaining that her husband and in-laws were harassing her as she was unable to fulfill their demands. “Unable to bear the torture, she allegedly committed suicide. Hence, The four accused have been booked for abetment to commit suicide and will be arrested soon,” he said.

The accused have been booked under IPC section 498A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 306 (abetment to commit suicide).
