ABOUT THE AUTHOR

SADHU PROF. V. RANGARAJAN, Founder Trustee of Sister Nivedita Academy , Sri Bharatamata Gurukula Ashram and Bharatamata Mandir at Bangalore, inspired by his Siksha Guru, H.H. Swami Chinmayananda, and mentor, Sri Guruji Golwalkar, entered into dedicated service to the Hindu cause over five decades ago and shouldered important responsibilities in institutions like Chinmaya Mission, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Viswa Hindu Parishad, Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission and Vivekananda Kendra. He served as editor of ‘Hindustan Samachar’ News Agency, English periodicals, ‘Yuva Bharati’, ‘Vivekananda Kendra Patrika’, and ‘Brahmavadin’ and Tamil weekly ‘Vijaya Bharatam’. He visited South Africa in 1984 to edit YOGA LESSONS FOR CHILDREN, a prestigious publication of Divine Life Society of S.A. to mark Swami Sivananda Centenary and since then, has made eleven more visits, besides visiting countries like Mauritius, Reunion, Kenya, Botswana, Singapore and Nepal for propagation of Hindu thought and culture.

Sister Nivedita Academy was founded in 1977 and for the maiden publication of the Academy, VANDE MATARAM by Sadhu Prof. V. Rangarajan, the Foreword was written by Acharya J.B. Kripalani. The next work, GLIMPSES OF A GREAT YOGI, a biography of H.H. Yogi Ramsuratkumar, by Sadhuji, the Foreword was written by H.H. Swami Chidananda, who was President of Divine Life Society, Rishikesh. Bharatamata Gurukula Ashram & Yogi Ramsuratkumar Indological Research Centre was founded at Bangalore in 1999 and for its first publication, VIJNANA BHARATI—HINDUISM FROM VEDIC PERIOD TO MODERN TIMES by Sadhuji, the Foreword was written by Swami Mukhyananda of Sri Ramakrishna Math, Belur. Renowned author and journalist, Sri R.A. Padmanabhan wrote the Foreword to SAGA OF PATRIOTISM—REVOLITIONARIES IN INDIA’S FREEDOM STRUGGLE by Sadhu Prof. V. Rangarajan and R.Vivekanandan.

Sadhu Rangarajan obtained a post-graduate degree in Philosophy with first class first rank in the Madras University in 1979, and registered for doctoral research on the ‘PHILOSOPHY OF MAHAKAVI C. SUBRAMANIA BHARATI’, through the Department of Philosophy of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Chennai. He was hoping to submit the thesis on the occasion of Bharati Centenary in 1982, but destiny willed otherwise, the research work was prolonged, the sadhu was drawn into the spiritual field and had to leave the shores of the country to serve the Hindu cause in South Africa, Mauritius and Reunion. He later received initiation from H.H. Yogi Ramsuratkumar of Tiruvannamalai and his deeksha guru instructed him to continue the research. The product of his research took the shape of a series of articles, covering the poet’s religious, social and political philosophy, in the quarterly, TATTVA DARSANA, published by Sister Nivedita Academy, during the period 2002 to 2013. Renowned author and translator of Mahakavi Bharatiyar’s poems into English, Smt. Prema Nandakumar has written a foreword to the book ready for publication. Earlier, Sadhuji’s dissertation for his M.A. Philosophy, titled HINDU RASHTRA—VEDIC IDEALS IN MODERN INDIAN AWAKENING, was serialized in TATTVA DARSANA from 2005 to 2007, and now it is ready for publication in book form. Sri Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has written a Foreword to the work.
