The younger generation is deflecting from moral values, Indian culture, traditions and customs due to an influence of the western culture. This was stated by religious guru Swami Achityunand Teerth Maharaj during a religious discourse at the Bhuma Niketan Ashram in Haridwar today.

“The youths must play an active role in restoring India’s lost status as a global leader. But, this is only possible if they don’t come under the influence of the western culture,” he said.

He urged the youths to take part in social activities like clean Ganga and environment conservation.

While talking about the International Yoga Day, he said yoga was the best art to remain healthy.

“Our saints developed this art not for one single community or sect, but for all human beings,” he added. Devotees from the USA were briefed about yoga asanas.
