Burma victims should be settled in Pakistan: Pakistan Hindu Council

ISLAMABAD– Pakistan Hindu Council, representative body of Hindu community living across the country, has demanded practical measures by sending Pakistan Navy ships to help oppressed Muslims of Burma wandering in the seas.

In a press statement, it said that Muslims in Burma should be settled on emergency bases with the financial support of the government. Malik Riaz recently contributed some amount for the victims.

Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council said, “One of the objectives to establish Pakistan, according to the founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah, was to provide shelter to the Muslims of the sub-continent.”

“Providing shelter to the Burma Muslims in the birth place of Budha, which is today’s Pakistan, will rest the soul of Budha in peace,” Ramesh added.

He also paid rich tribute to the decision during the first tenure of PM Nawaz Sharif, which provided shelter to the Bosnian Muslims.
