Press Release
Vishwa Hindu Parishad Jammu & Kashmir very strongly condemns the brutal terrorist attack at Police Station Rajbagh in Kathua District.
It is a matter of great concern that despite previous terrorist activities of the same nature and in the same sector, terrorists were able to target heavily guarded Police Station on busy Jammu Kathua national highway today morning.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad salutes the martyrdom of Paramilitary and Police personnel who laid down their lives while encountering terrorists; and also condoles the demise of a civilian who fell to terrorists bullets at Rajbagh today.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad State unit called an emergency meeting today at its State headquarters at Shakti Ashram, Rehari, Jammu in view of today’s terrorist attack. Meeting was prominently attended by Dr. Sham Lal General Secretary,  Shri Rajesh Gupta Sr. Vice President, Dr. J.P.Sharma Jammu Mahanagar President besides all Jammu District office bearers and Bajrang Dal activists. State VHP team while expressing their great displeasure over the security scenario in J&K, decided to take up the matter with union Home Minister Shri Raj Nath Singh at New Delhi. It remains a matter of concern that despite repeated terrorist attacks in this region; and great claims of border fencing, terrorists continue to sneak in by breaching security covers of our forces. The situation clearly indicates the presence of sleeper cells in the area who seem to provide local assistance and shelter to terrorists. The attack has been executed at a time when tourist season in J&K is about to begin, and it is anticipated that attack not only is aimed to create panic among peace loving residents of Jammu but to desist visiting tourists and pilgrims from coming to J&K; thus hitting our economy too.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad categorically demands the strict combing operation in entire Jammu Kathua belt, identification and ousting of illegal Bangadeshi and Burmese immigrants from Jammu region and increase of vigil and presence of armed forces in entire J&K. It is also felt that soft handling of hardcore terrorists by present State Government has started showing results in the form of such terrorist attacks and thus requires condemnation from all sections of society.

Rajesh Gupta

Sr Vice President
