Muslims tried to clamp Holi in various places of Uttar Pradesh

Holi disrupted in many places of  Uttar Pradesh for Friday Namaz at Noon.

UP celebrates Holi with fervour amid violence instigated by Muslims  at Gorakhpur, Faridabad, Allahabad, Fatehpur and Bareilly.

Rasulpur (Ghorakhpur) still tensed after Hindu Muslim clash in Holi.

HENB | Gorakhpur-Allahabad-Lucknow | March 6, 2015::  While the by-lanes of Mathura, Vrinadvan, Barsana in Braj to the ghats of Varanasi and from Temples to village yards,  Holi was celebrated across Uttar Pradesh on Friday with favour and fervour but some unpleasant and provocative incidents of clashes and firing were also reported at few places.

“While there were reports of minor clashes and incidents of firing at some places, the festival of colours passed off peacefully”, a home department official informed. But, sections of  unruly elements to defame Hindus and some Muslim miscreants tried to clamp the enthusiastic Holi of Hindus in a very condemnable way.

Rasulpur in  Gorakhpur saw a heavy clash between Hindu and Muslim youths in the day of Holi, while Muslims wanted to stop playing Holi in roads until the Jumma Namaj was offered.

Reports came in that the Dozens of Muslim youth of Rasulpur  came all on a sudden to the roads and forced to stop the Holi celebrations on roads and told the local Hindu children to wipe out the colours from the roads as ‘Holi is forbidden in Islam’. The armed Muslim youths started brandishing of swords and told the Hindu minor boys and girls then enjoying Holi on roads, to stop splashing colour any more until Jumma prayer at noon.

While the feared children reported the incident to their guardians, Hindu youths of that locality came out to protest and chased the Muslim hooligans.

After growing controversy, hooligan Muslim youths started attack on Hindus removing the swords, from which three Hindu youths hurt seriously. A youth has been cut to the mouth and nose. During the violence a motorcycle and a shop were set on fire. Heavy brick-baiting and use of iron rods and choppers were seen in the incident. Some Muslims were also injured in the incident as reported.

After the violent skirmish, police and administration officials rushed to the spot and took the control over the situation.

Getting the news of violence of Hindu and Muslims, DM of Gorakhpur, Sri Ranjan Kumar and SSP Sri Pradip Kumar reached the spot at earliest. But, the situation is still tensed and Hindus of Rasulpur are deprived of celebrating Holi this year in full course.

Gorakhpur has its history to be disturbed by the Muslims in many occasions including the days of Hindu celebration of Holi.

In 2003, the festival of colours Holi turned gory killing three including the Imam of Ghazi Rauza mosque and another person and 50 were seriously injured then.

Hindu-Muslim brawls and violence instigated by Muslims have also been reported this year from Muthiganj area of Allahabad and Ballabgarh area in the district  of Faridabad.

In Ballabgarh,  a group of Muslim youth yelling and abusing others came in a vechile and asked the Hindu people dancing on the road to give way to their vehicle. When the other group refused and asked them to take another road, the matter aggravated and those in the vehicle were allegedly beaten by the colony residents.

Following which, the Muslim group, which was thrashed, returned after about an hour with more people with lethal  arms like swords and  iron rods. The clash injured several people of both sides.

In Muthigang area Allahbad a crude bomb has been charged in a holi procession, as reported. One person left dead and several injured.  Four persons arrested so far a police investigation is on to reveal the antecedents of the violence.

Two people were also injured when two groups clashed in a Fatehpur village of Azamgarh districts. The Muslim public protested temple music due to their Friday Namaz at noon.

In Bareilly, it was a tough day for the police and administration to control sporadic violence created by communal Muslim public in many places,

The areas under Bankhana, Kila ke Muhalla , Ni ki  Chadai and  Khalenagar, arrogant Muslims attacked the Hindu public playing Holi in their own way.

The Muslim public heavily stoned at Hindu public, commuters and vehicles when a brawl took place near by  street at  the vicinity of Ghosia Mosque. Muslims took otherwise while some Hindu juvenile splashed colour over them. The Muslim came out with great protest and started stone pelting. One Vijay Sharma was severly injured and later admitted into District Hospital by the police on duty. Windscreen of some vehicles and window pen of some Hindu shop owners were broken.

To control the confronting Hindu-Muslim public, police had to fire in the air in Neem ki Chadai to get control of the situation. But, the police said that the firing was made by the miscreants of one side.

There was reporting of violence from Jassoli Mosque area and Asraf Khan Chawni locality of Bareilly due to same dispute of Friday namaj and sprinkling of colour of Holi.

In the area Khalenagar Railway siding one Kallan Khan injured severely two women and a boy by stoning. It is reported that Kallan was going to take part at Jumma Namaj (Friday Prayer at Noon) in a near by Mosque. Then Monu (10 yrs) sprinkled some water colour on Kallan. Getting furious by that colour of Holi, Kallan (a Devout Muslim or an Islamic Insane?) started heavy stone pelting towards the house of Monu. Monu, his mother Rajvati  and one of their neighbor Seema (wife of Khestrapal) got serious injury. Being minority there, Hindus could not protest anyway.  But after reporting the matter into near by police posting, two police personnel went  to the spot to find Kallan but failed to trace the culprit.

But, it is very unfortunate for the pious Hindus in many places that the significance of Holi has been turned objectionable due to unwanted excesses with very loud music being played at public places, vulgarity at display in public places and drunk driving. It is also reported from Sarnath that one elderly Hindu man has beaten to death by some persons belonging to rowdy Hindu youths as the elderly man and his son protested against teasing of some girl playing Holi.
