Patna: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) chief Pravin Togadia, at a Hindu convention at the Shakha field in Rajendra Nagar in Patna on Monday, appealed to the government to pass anti-conversion laws to protect Hindus from becoming a minority in their own country.

“The Parliament is once again in session and on this occasion; I call on leaders like Sonia Gandhi and Mulayam Singh Yadav to support anti-conversion laws to stop forces conversions of the Hindus who are very much against this practice,” he said.

Once again raising the specter of Ram Mandir and the return of Hindus to Kashmir, Togadia said that Hindus in India were not safe anymore.

“Development is necessary but at the same time when Hindus are vanished then what is the point of development?” he asked demanding Hindus must be guaranteed protection and employment so they are not lured into changing their religion.

Condemning the so-called ‘Love Jihad’, Togadia said that the VHP will not tolerate such measures that could weaken the Hindu family.

“We oppose conversion but support ‘Ghar Wapasi’ (return to Hinduism). Same way we oppose Love Jihad but support Common Citizen Code. We are against illegal aliens from Bangladesh but are in favor of more children at home,” the firebrand VHP leader said adding the organization was arranging for free medical care for the poor that would be launched in Bihar come June.
