Defending ‘Ghar Vapsi’ campaign being carried out by saffron groups, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Ashok Singhal on Saturday said that the country will not prosper without it. “Through this campaign, our only motive is to make aware people, who had converted to other faiths owing to compulsion, of their Hindu ancestors,” he said while taking part in `Maryada Mahotsava’ being organised by Jain community in Anandpuri area of Kanpur south.

Parrying a query about BJP’s move to push aside Hindutva agenda and run government on development plank, Singhal said: “If Hindus feel insecure and cow slaughter continues, the country will never grow.” He referred to the teachings of Brahmaleen Devraha Baba, who was committed to protect Hindutva and cow for country’s growth.

On Ram temple issue, the VHP patron said: “It should be constructed at the earliest.”

Criticizing western culture, he said all the values had been lost in the cities because of people aping west.

Singhal said, “We have to work hard to motivate our youths towards Hindu culture and dharma.”

He demanded the Central government to open Akbar Fort on the banks of Sangam in Allahabad. “It would help lakhs of Kalpwasis who take part in rituals in extremely cold conditions,” he said.
