Sri Vari Seva volunteers should set an example in rendering altruistic services, TTD Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao said.

The baronial concept which kicked off in the year 2000 with just 195 volunteers has to its credit a staggering enrolment of over 5.5 lakh volunteers, including 3.5 lakh from over a dozen States at present.

Addressing a mammoth gathering of Sri Vari seva volunteers at the TTDs Asthana Mandapam on Tuesday, Mr Rao urged the volunteers to act as brand ambassadors in the promotion of Sanatana Hindu dharma. The field was wide open even to doctors, IT and other professionals who, he said, were always wanted and accepted in their specialised areas.

Affirming of all the required assistance from the side of the management, he appealed to the volunteers to emerge as a synonym to the quality service. The Sri Vari Seva complex being built with a whopping budget outlay of Rs. 70 crores for exclusively accommodating the volunteers would be completed soon, he said.

Earlier, TTD PRO T. Ravi briefed him about the origin and objectives of the novel scheme.

APRO P. Neelima was also present on the occasion.
