New Delhi: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is planning to launch a massive nation-wide campaign to garner support for the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The plan is to cover one lakh villages across the length and breadth of the nation. The organisation is planning to launch a week-long ‘Ram Utsav’ with an effort to force the government to pass a law to facilitate the construction of Temple at the disputed site.
A series of processions, religious discourse, keertans, speeches and contests will be part
of the Utsav that is expected to cover 9,000 villages across Maharashtra.
The organisation plans to galvanise public opinion to pressurise the government in submitting to its demands.
However, before pushing for the bill, the organisation plans to ‘persuade’ the Muslim community to shelve their demands and withdraw their case from Supreme Court of India.
In 2010, Allahabad High Court had passed a ruling according to which the disputed land was to be divided between three parties- one part for Ram Lalla (infant Ram), Nirmohi Akhada and Sunni Waqf Board.
The High Court verdict was subsequently stayed by the Supreme Court.
