Chargesheets Served in Hindu Munnani Man’s Murder

hindu_munnaniVELLORE: The Special Investigation Division (SID) of the CB-CID served copies of the chargesheets in the murder of Hindu Munnani leader S Vellaiyappan to ‘Police’ Fakruddin, Bilal Malik and Panna Ismail, the three prime accused in the case, on Wednesday.
The charge sheet was served to the trio in the special court at Poonamallee in the outskirts of Chennai, under tight security.
“We have served copies of the charge sheet in Vellaiyappan’s murder case to each of the three accused in the court hall in the presence of Judge M Moni. We will serve the copies of the charge sheet of Dr Reddy case during the next hearing,” said police.
After the judge postponed the hearing of the case to October 28, the police took the trio to Central Prison in Vellore at 2.35 pm, sources said.
Identifying Parade
Sources in CB-CID said the special court, constituted to conduct the trial in the murder cases, had granted permission to conduct a Test Identification (TI) parade in Panchatcharam case on October 17 on the premises of Vellore Central Prison for Men.
The trio is alleged to have followed Panchatcharam, an employee of a jewellery shop, carrying `1.50 lakh, on a two-wheeler, intercepted him and stabbed him to death near Gudiyattam railway station around 8.30 pm on April 29 last year. The Special Investigation Division(SID) of the  CB-CID filed a case in connection with the murder after the trio confessed to the crime during interrogation.
“There are three eyewitnesses in this case. They will be brought to the jail premises under tight security for the TI parade in front of the magistrate,” said the police.
