Activists against camel slaughter, VHP file a complaint

vhp-imgA group of animal lovers and members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad on Sunday gave a complaint to the district administration accusing that a camel was brought from Rajasthan to Periyathottam in Tirupur city for slaughter on Bakrid day.

C.K. Ayyappan, an animal welfare activist, told The Hindu that the camel was brought with its leg tied in a truck. “The Collector has promised to take action in the issue and prevent slaughter,” he said.

Pathetic condition

The animal activists were now asking the police to identify the actual persons behind the transport of the animal in pathetic condition and arrest the accused.
