(Gujarat) Muslims butcher a Hindu man to death in Rajkot’s pilgrimage town Jasdan

RAJKOT: A 32-year-old man was murdered in Jasdan town of Rajkot district on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Kanu Gida of Gita Nagar in Jasdan.

Police said that Kanu and his cousin Deepak Gida (38) were going on a bike near Gokul Chowk on Thursday evening when they were attacked with knives by Ghugha Sipai, Wasim Kathiri, Majid Parmar and Mohsin Faqir. Kanu and Deepak were injured and rushed to civil hospital in Rajkot where Kanu succumbed to his injuries. Deepak is said to be out of danger.

Sources said that Kanu had an old rivalry with Ghugha and his men. It is being assumed that this rivalry led to the assault on Thursday.

Looking at the sensitivity of the matter, there has been a heavy police deployment across Jasdan town to avoid any untoward incident between two communities.

The funeral procession of the deceased was carried out amid tight security on Friday. Kanu was engaged in agriculture and was unmarried. Meanwhile, parts of Jasdan town observed a shut down on Friday following the murder as a mark of respect to the deceased.

The accused managed to flee from the spot after the crime. The police have launched a manhunt to nab them.
