VHP of Lehigh Valley in association with the Hindu Temple of Allentown organized a health conscious picnic, titled, “Hike for Health Day” on July 19, 2014 at a beautiful lake side Green Lane Park, Green Lane, PA. This was the first time such a picnic event was organized with a focus on health.
VHP of Lehigh Valley in association with the Hindu Temple of Allentown organized a health conscious picnic, titled, “Hike for Health Day” on July 19, 2014 at a beautiful lake side Green Lane Park, Green Lane, PA. This was the first time such a picnic event was organized with a focus on health. Approximately, 40 families attended this event. It was a beautiful day. The event started at 10:30 am. Shree Atulji commenced the event with a Yoga and laughter exercise. Yoga was followed by a 3 mile hike through the woods led by Lakshmi Jampanaboyana ji. The trail followed through thickets and dense forest, winding through trees, and ended up near a lake. Almost all participants, including both young and surprisingly old participants completed the three mile hike.
The hike was followed by a pot-luck lunch. The lunch was followed by an informative talk by world renowned Ayurvedic doctor,
Dr. Shekar who provided an informative discussion about maintaining healthy lifestyle. He also answered personal questions later. The event was very successful and everyone hoped to have such event in future.
