Francois Gautier’s Fundraising Program for Shivaji 
Maharaj Museum
 
Houston, Texas (5, 6 July 2014): Hindu Mahasabha of America hosted a presentation on construction of a museum at Pune to honor Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The presentation was given by Mr. Francois Gautier, a renowned journalist and writer who has been covering events in India since 1970. Mr. Gautier discussed the rich history of Indian culture with special emphasis on tough time India had to go through to protect its identity, culture and Hindu religion against Islamic, British Colonists and other foreign invaders since 1100s.  He stressed that vast efforts need to be done not only to keep Hindu culture protected but also a way to show to the future generations how and why these Indian fought for so long.

One of way to accomplish such goal is by constructing museums to honor each great personality of past who protected Hindu religion and Indian identity.   Mr. Gautier discussed in detail, one of such museum, which he is trying to construct in Pune to honor, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who fought in 1600s to protect Hinduism and Dharma. This museum dedicated not only to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj but also to the knowledge that stands behind Dharma and Hinduism.

Mr. Gautier also pointed out that such construction projects require find raising events since the construction project carry a huge cost. Hindu Mahasabha of America (HMSA) supports this nobel cause and seeks active participation all its members and community individuals to donate money for such difficult but noble projects. During this two day program $12000 was raised for Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum dedicated to Hindu holocaust.
