VHP & Bajrang Dal’s partial Bandh in Jammu on Baltal clashes

mapjkJammu, July 19: The Jammu ‘Bandh’ call given by Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal (BD) against yesterday’s clashes at Baltal, today evoked partial response as many shops and business establishments remained open while the traffic also plied normally on the roads.

The Bar Association Jammu (BAJ) also suspended its work as mark of protest against the incident.
The protesters blocked roads at different places and also burnt the effigy of the government. Many markets like City Chowk, Purani Mandi, Jewel Chowk, Kachi Chowni, Shalamar were partially closed.
As per reports, protests were also held at Bhaderwah, Rajouri town, Kathua and at few other places by the VHP, Snatan Dharam and BD activists. Raising slogans against the government, the protesters demanded proper security for the langarwalas and Yatris.
However, as per reports, the government and private offices and schools witnessed thin attendance due to the strike.
