VHP calls for Jammu shutdown in response to attack on Hindus

CNN_INDIA_MAPTo protest against today’s clashes at Baltal the base camp of holy Amarnath pilgrimage and attack on langars and yatris, the VHP and Bajrang Dal have given a call for Jammu bandh tomorrow.

The bandh call was given after a joint meeting of VHP and BD leaders late tonight. The meeting was presided over by VHP State president, Leela Karan Sharma and among others it was attended by VHP senior leader and its patron, Dr Rama Kant Dubey, working president, Hem Raj Khajuria, general secretary, Dr Sham Lal Gupta and other leaders, Rakesh Sharma of BD, Naveen Sudhan and Rajesh Bhasin in which people were appealed to observe a total bandh tomorrow in protest against today’s incidents at Baltal and attack on langars and Amarnath pilgrims.
They also made an appeal to all social organizations, traders and transporters to make the bandh call a total success.
Meanwhile, BD activists also held a demonstration at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar today in protest against the today’s violence at Baltal. The protestors led by Rakesh Sharma convener BD torched the effigy of Government.
Another protest was held at Sunderbani, Nowshera in Rajouri district by VHP and BD activist who also torched the effigy of Government..
