Hon. Narendra Modi should form SIT on atrocities against Hindus: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee

imagesAMRITSAR: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) has urged Prime MinisterNarendra Modi to form a SIT on atrocities against Hindus, who were forced to move out of Punjab during the dark days of militancy in the state.Talking to mediapersons here on Thursday, PPCC spokesperson Nimisha Mehta said the party had written a letter to Modi, drawing his attention towards the issue. “They were forced by terrorists in Punjab to either adopt Sikhism or leave the state,” she said, adding that several Hindu families left their homes and some sold their assets at throwaway prices. She said if Modi can take steps to rehabilitate Kashmiri Pandits, then he should also take steps to rehabilitate Punjabi Hindus.

Modi should seek apology

All India Sikh Students Federation (Peermohammad) asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to acknowledge the government’s wrongdoing during Operation Bluestar and seek apology in the Parliament. Talking to mediapersons in Amritsar on Thursday, AISSF president Karnail Singh Peermohammad also asked deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal to issue a whip to SAD’s newly-elected MPs to move a resolution in the Parliament on June 6, condemning the attack on Golden Temple and Akal Takht.
