DYFI demands reinvestigation into murder of Bajarang Dal Activist

imagesMANGALORE: DYFI will hold a day and night protest near deputy commissioner’s office here on June 4 urging reinvestigation into the murder of Bajrang Dal activist Rajesh Poojary.

Poojary, an auto rickshaw driver was murdered at Kalpane of Kallige village in Bantwal on March 21. Bantwal town police had arrested Irshad (21), Imran (20) and Hussain (20), residents of Mullur village, in connection with the incident. DYFI and parents of arrested youths allege foul play in the arrest of their wards in connection with the murder.

DYFI state president Muneer Katipalla said that the protest has been organised to urge the government to announce re-investigation and release the ‘innocent youths’. “We have decided to fight for justice as our demands have not been met by the district in-charge minister and MLA Mohiuddin Bawa. We want the police to arrest miscreants, who are actually involved in Poojary’s murder incident, and release innocents. The 24 hours-long protest will commence at 10.30am on June 4,” he added.
