HJS stages demonstrations protesting against changing name of ‘Shankaracharya Hill’

Karwar (Karnataka) : ‘Takht-E- Suleman’ is the name given to ‘Shankaracharya Hill’, the most ancient and famous revered place of faith of Hindus in Srinagar by Archaeological Survey Department. Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) held intense demonstrations to protest against Archaeological Survey Department and Jammu and Kashmir State Government for such change of name. The demonstrations were held by HJS in front of the office of Dy. Commissioner of North Canara.

Panvel : Similar demonstrations were staged at Shivaji Chowk, Panvel under the aegis of ‘Rashtreeya Hindu Andolan’. Shri. Nilesh Thale, Shri. Somesh Kolge of RSS, Shri. Shrikrushna Upadhye of Sanatan Sanstha, Shri. Bharat Bugade of HJS and 60 devout Hindus took part in the demonstrations. Few devout Hindus expressed their view on the topic. Local police did video-recording of the demonstrations.
